November 10-13 2011 Infineon Raceway (Sonoma, CA)

Last weekend’s double header was the final two races of the regular season. The Mazda powered open wheel racers took to the technical and challenging full course at Infineon Raceway.

“I didn't go to all of the races. After the Laguna Seca event, we were only twelve points behind so with a shot at it we decided to go to the finale.” Hasa Driver Mike Anderson explained.

Moses Smith Season FinaleMoses Smith, driver of the No. 16 NAPA Filters/Hasa Pool Products Toyota Camry would finish out the 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West season third in the points race. In the fourteen races in the 2011 season, Smith recorded five top-five finishes and nine top-tens.

This season he had his career best average finish in the five years he has competed in the NKPS West with two second place finishes coming at the short track of All American Speedway and the road course at Miller Motorsports Park.

Corrigan - Thanksgiving Weekend RaceThis year the Speedway's popular King Taco Super Trucks will join the Lucas Slick Mist Super Late Models and the Auto Club Late Models on the $50,000 card for Saturday November 26. This is all part of a new tradition of a three-day celebration of speed which will see fans invited to come out to the track on Friday (November 25) at no charge. They'll be able to watch practice and meet an all-star cast stock car drivers from all over the country who will be looking to end one season with a flourish and jump-start their 2012 racing efforts. On Friday the pits will be open to the public for special tours from 4 to 6PM.

Results at All American SpeedwayStarting on the inside of row six, Moses Smith, who drives the No. 16 Hasa Pool Products/NAPA Filters Toyota Camry for Bill McAnally Racing, made his way towards the front of the field of NASCAR K&N Pro Series West cars. By lap 88 of the scheduled 150-lap race, he was in sixth. With twenty-five laps to go, Smith had navigated the Hasa Toyota into the fourth spot. He moved into third with ten laps to go.

A late race caution set the field up for their first attempt at a green-white-checkered finish. As the cars came to the checkered flag, Smith would get turned.

Anderson Tops Podium for Both RacesOn the weekend of October 1, sixteen Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear drivers competed at the Sunoco Championship Series Double Regional event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Although some rain was in the forecast, both days ended up being perfect weather.

“It was so great to get back to Laguna Seca. It has been a while since I have driven this great course. The weekend didn’t start without a little excitement, as I was about to drive the car to grid for the morning practice the clutch throw-out bearing broke and we missed the session."
