“It was so great to get back to Laguna Seca. It has been a while since I have driven this great course. The weekend didn’t start without a little excitement, as I was about to drive the car to grid for the morning practice the clutch throw-out bearing broke and we missed the session." "We made the repair quickly and the car was ready to go in no time.” Hasa Driver Mike Anderson reported. Both races were held on Sunday, and there was only a short time in between for car preparation. “The course came back to me quickly and I was able to take the pole by .4 sec over Bill Weaver. On Sunday we would have 2 races, with the fast laptime from race 1 determining the qualifying order for race 2. I got a good start keeping Weaver behind me but I was passed by an FE car who was holding me up slightly which meant Weaver was all over my tail. Once the FE got up to speed I was able to pull a few car lengths on Weaver and try to focus on putting in a good lap time for the Race 2 line up. I was able to maintain the lead and capture the pole for race 2” Anderson stated. “The race 2 start went a little better, maintaining the lead with a little more room. I had a comfortable lead and was working through traffic well. There was a full course caution that bunched up the field towards the end of the race. I had a lapped car between Weaver and myself and was able to get a good restart, there was a lot of lapped traffic ahead but I was able to navigate my way through without being held up. With only a few laps to go there was a multi-car accident exiting the Corkscrew and the race ended up finishing under yellow."
