November 10-13 2011 Infineon Raceway (Sonoma, CA)

Last weekend’s double header was the final two races of the regular season. The Mazda powered open wheel racers took to the technical and challenging full course at Infineon Raceway.

“I didn't go to all of the races. After the Laguna Seca event, we were only twelve points behind so with a shot at it we decided to go to the finale.” Hasa Driver Mike Anderson explained.

Peter Workum secured pole on Saturday in the Formula Mazda class, and held the position for a while before Anderson took it away for the win. On Sunday, Workum was off pole but was able to get ahead of pole sitter, Mike Anderson, early on. Peter built a large gap to Anderson, but late in the race Anderson made a charge and took the win.

However, although he won both battles, Anderson was not able to win the war. “We won the Sunday Formula Car Challenge series finale also. We missed the championship by 2 points. Congratulations to Peter Workum and crew on the FCC championship!” stated Mike.

The double header also served as the opener for the Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear Winter Series.
